Multi-Year Clustering
Under the Multi-year clustering, one teacher is with the same students for 3-4 years which will help students who come from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and have not achieved their age-appropriate development milestone due to Failure to Thrive. It will also help a teacher understand the cognitive and non-cognitive challenges with a child and address them over multiple years.
Broad View of Foundational Skills
An expanded notion of foundational skills to also include Life Skills and Social Emotional Competencies. A strong foundation of Life Skills in the early years will go a long way in helping students achieve age-appropriate learning and life outcomes.
Community Contribution and Connection to the School
A concept of a school where we look at the community around the school also acts as a learning eco-system. Expertise from the community ie. Military personnel, Sports persons, Professors, Lecturers, Teachers, Doctors, Actors, Media Persons, Musicians, Singers, Dancers, Progressive Farmers and Artisans can contribute a lot and become an asset to the school. Students, in turn, learn a lot from them.
Broadening the Concept of “Learning” to include
Learning to know
Learning to be
Learning to do
Learning to Live together
How to integrate these elements into what a child does on a normal day would help build holistic learning environment.
